Halle Complex

Home Of The Memphis Tigers

The home facility for the Memphis Tiger Baseball organizations Connie Mack and Mickey Mantle divisions is the Halle Complex.

Halle Complex consists of two (2) baseball fields. The first, Gagliano Stadium, is a first class facility with stadium seating for 1,500 people with additional seating for 1,000 people down the right and left field lines. Gagliano Stadium was built in 1967 as a co-op between the City of Memphis and American Legion baseball. By 1979 it was ready to host a major amateur tournament when AABC brought the Mickey Mantle World Series to Memphis and Gagliano. Mickey Mantle himself ushered in the tournament every year until 1983 when the AABC moved the tournament to Waterford, Conneticut where the championship game was played in Yankee Stadium in Bronx, New York. The same year the Mickey Mantle World Series left, the Connie Mack Southeast Regional came to call Memphis home like it has ever since. The tournament has liked the local teams with Keith Hagan's host Memphis Tigers winning the Southeast Regional 13 of the 19 years it has been here.

In the years since 1967, the stadium went through a period of disrepair with the City of Memphis, so in 1994, AABC took over the Complex which now consisted of another field north of Gagliano Stadium called Sowell Field. Since taking over the complex, AABC has replaced the lighting at Gagliano with a high resolution, hydrogen lighting system, replaced the outfield fence with an 8 foot high, solid wood fence, bought state of the art John Deer Field equipment and installed a new playing surface in 2000.

The complex hosted the "Spring Fling," TSSAA State Baseball Championships in 2003, 2004 and 2005.

In 2006, Tiger President George Moreland spearheaded an effort to upgrade the facility by adding stadium seatsalvaged from Tim McCarver Stadium. So, while Tim McCarver may no longer exist, a piece of Memphis baseball history lives on at Halle.

And in 2008, further improvements were made in an effort spearheaded by long time Tiger coach and Director, Tommy Williams.
